Steam Support is extremely rude and disrespectful.
Anyone who has any experience with it will know that talking to support about a ban, is quite frustrating and surreal. It is like talking to a bot. I guess there's probably a person there but they just click buttons which send these standardized messages. They will never explain the reasons for banning you, except for "posts which are argumentative/inflammatory/insulting and so on are not allowed".

At the end of a typical back-and-forth, which likely gave you nothing but frustration, they even have the gall to tell you "If you have any more questions, we will be happy to help!"

Now my point is, although all of these messages are of course using the most polite, inoffensive language, how is that NOT disrespectful? I think it is extremely so. Using polite language does not make you not rude, if you're basically just saying "idc what you say, we are right and don't have to explain anything to you, get lost".

Hiding behind a mask of politeness, which is obviously completely fake, might even make it worse. After all, that is insincere and being insincere is ALSO disrespectful. I think it is very superficial to say that being polite is just about which words you use.

In conclusion, title. They aren't a very good example of what a civil person should be like, and are even breaking their own rules.

They reply like a bot now because they're paid by the company, with all the legal ramifications that entails. They're essentially counseled by an attorney on how to respond, instead of saying what they think. The individual employees are lost in a vast nothingness that is the corporate identity.
The one thing you need to understand about HR or customer service, is that they're solely there to cover the company's ass.

They don't care about anything outside of that, and never have.
Yes - and i also told that to the support a couple of times. They should drop the fake politeness and either give an answer or not. And the nice thing is that they indeed say "If you have any more questions, we will be happy to help!" every time, but they have never answered any questions i asked - and i asked like 30 or something. They rather remove the warning or ban - and i also told them that i would prefer to keep the warning or ban, when they would be able to explain their work, which they can´t....

They could make it short and quick with - also Your suggestion: "idc what you say, we are right and don't have to explain anything to you, get lost. Thanks for Your money You ♥♥♥♥♥♥." - while they close any ticket after the third reply anyways, and You have to open a new one if You insist on an answer, which You never get. But with the politeness it looks like they would actually care, which they don´t. And the best answers are these which actually don´t connect to the request, but just state some general reply, like "Here´s the link to the forum rules (read them again You full-idiot)"

...and humanity lost, because nobody is able to explain the law. The nice thing is that it´s not exclusive to steam. "It is like that - because, because - it´s written like that. See? That should be explanation enough..."

They are trying to break your will. Just do not let them force you in a room with 40 furries and a bong that is missing water. Cause the furries are going to replace the missing water with something else.

So tell me, AI spam bot, just what were you banned for that made you create an alternate account?

Anyone who has any experience with it ...

I've never been banned.

I have been "warned" maybe three times, one of those seemingly being rescinded (It disappeared after my reply explaining/defining the word I used.) because I think that mod didn't understand English very well. (Not sure)

One Warning may have been pretty righteous, so I didn't really contest it. (Don't really recall)

One was not and the CS/Person mostly agreed, but it was better to just let it go since it was only a Warning.

I think that's it, really.

And, any interaction I had with the above persons was generally a positive experience. But, those were pretty long ago, so... /shrug

Its more of a situation that OP fought the law with a switch blade while Law usually wields a massive hammer with "F*** You" written on the handle

I don't care how strong your switch blade is, WARHAMMERS ARE SCARY!
They always have bin. It's an American company. Don't expect them to follow the rules.

What it looks like is, there's a counter for how many times you are reported. You will get 2 of 3 warnings, after that they will become bans. If you have been banned recently, you won't get warnings, always bans immediately. You have to not get any reports for a while to make the counter go down and get warnings again.

Yeah, they suck because they have a "get it right the first time" model.
There is not really any clarification on anything or standard for what they do.

But that's the norm in tech now.
