I would love to go there!
Definitely a deal - All day play for $20-25!
How does it work? Do you just get in at the door and have to stay in the building? If so, I assume they have food/drink/etc, right?
But...

:)
I don't understand.... What do arcade games and pinball machines have to do with nostalgia?
So this is the way it works you pay 25 dollars for a day. Keep your receipt so you can leave go eat and go back to the hotel and come back that same day.
Sunday through Thursday they close at 12am and on Fridays and Saturdays it’s 2am.
I’ll be honest, your first time there will be overwhelming but like Persona 5 stated, ‘Take your time’
Trust me it’s wonderful. The team who built this arcade have bought out almost the entire strip.
Their pinball arcade is seperste but you can buy a combo ticket and again go back and forth or come back you just need the receipts.
They do have rules for example one game at a time and if you playing pinball you have to finish it. lol last night an employee playing pinball was stopped by another employee and told to finish up lol
Overall great community and every Monday Doc does a livestream of a new cabinet.
As for food there is this place called Tony’s nearby and in walking distance that gives large portions of food for a very low price and it’s good and open all day and night so you have options
If you're referring to Chicago's crime, and that's what you're referring to in terms of DMZ, so I sort of have good news for you.
Now, I'm coming from a rough part of the West Suburbs, and I actually get on a scooter that goes 30 miles an hour, and I take the Forest Trail all the way there.
So if I could do it, you could do it, and Brookfield, Illinois, where this Arcade is one of the safest towns within the Chicagoland area.
Also, it has one of the best zoos in the actual world. As someone who's from Chicago, the best museum in the world to me is the Museum of Science and Industry, which is one of the largest in the world. And then we have Brookfield Zoo, which is one of the largest, but most people when they come to Chicago, they go to, I believe that's Lincoln Park Zoo, which, to be honest with you, sucks. And then the Field Museum, which is cool, but again, it's very small.
Again, we have some of the best facilities around here, and again, Brookfield is a safe location. So come here, enjoy. There's even a motel that's right across the street from the Arcade, and compared to some of the other motels around the surrounding areas, it's nice and well-kept.
So if you do come, definitely check out the Arcade, get a weekly pass, and check out the zoo, too. Again, it's pretty unique, and there is no other zoo like the zoo in Brookfield that I've seen within the United States. Every zoo I've been to, including our nation's capital, nothing compares to Brookfield Zoo.
Sweet! Thanks very much for the info!
I'll put it on my "bucket list." :)
I'd like the chance to get "arcade thumb" over a weekend, again. (Or, "finger," depending on the controls. Kuckles scraping the cabinet, finger/thumb pad pressure, etc. Recreational hazards...:))
First, there is WAY too much light. Not only do they have lots of overhead lights (In an arcade???), but lots of sunlight streaming in through the windows.
Arcades are supposed to be dark, like theaters, not just to increase immersion, but because light drastically reduces the contrast ratio of the displays.
Then, the cabinets are literally wedged in "shoulder-to-shoulder". This means a person can't play a game without brushing up against the person next to him, multiplayer is uncomfortable or impossible, and forget about people gathering around to watch.
And not only that, the aisle between cabinets is so narrow that I don't see how people can play opposing games without touching buttocks-to-buttocks. I have no idea how anyone would walk through the aisle in such a situation.
This is an awesome idea, but the owner needs to either get a bigger space, or --- unfortunately --- keep fewer cabinets out at a time and rotate them on a regular basis.
