There's nothing fantastical about it, in fact it's just around the corner. When the robots take over and the majority of the population can't find a job, there'll be no escape from it.
It's call Greed and Stupidity.
Using their own logic, our creator gave us rights, for our government to protect, did not also god give us natural resources to utilize for our means of living? Shouldn't government protect those resources also?
It would solve the homeless problem, and it is based in their own reality structure. It seems completely logical and reasonable for a civilized society.
the main issue is that it's assumed peoples engagement with economic forces has become so hard-coded that they'd sabotage themselves pushing down even when it didn't make sense.
which they're already doing, so again adding a stable foundation can only lead to benefits.
You assume there would be a benefit to sustain an increasingly ballooning population while their usefulness decreases. We may of course argue about the effect UBI would have on population, but let's keep the discussion simple.
Here are my counter-arguments:
1. Violence is the ultimate authority. The governments and corporations have the most violence.
2. The tendency for two people to disagree will prevent enough peace to introduce the UBI.
Peak schizo posting. You're not getting UBI and there's nothing you can do about it.
They can do pretty much everything, yes, and robots will never ask for a raise or get tired. We're on the brink of another revolution, similar to the Industrial one.
