Reassure can be used in a way where you mean that you have calm downed someone.
Calm is a state of being, you can reassure someone into it.
Why?
Yes, the door was locked.
After some time, I started to doubt myself. Had I really checked if the door was locked? I was old and forgetful, and I could not remember any of it. I was left with just a faint memory of having checked it. So I reassured myself of it, by checking the lock a second time.
Yes, the door was indeed locked.
In this case, “reassure” means double-checking the lock. One time to be sure, and a second time to reassure that I was indeed sure of it.
Ahh...
Well, at some point I had to not be as harsh to that thing... 🤷♀️
What makes you think that?
Owe is giving money??
Idk why reading these examples did not make calm
Calm is an adjective.
