Anyone else a libertarian?
Sometimes one gets so wrapped up in left vs right that one can forget.

A libertarian makes the mistake of still believing in politicians as a means of maximising individual autonomy. If one values what is left of the delimited freedoms that are afforded to us, then they wouldn't fall in line for any variety of "political solution".

Well aren't you just a smug little ♥♥♥♥ head!

Please, point out how I was in error. Explain why you think a libertarian is not weary of both political parties? Please use lots of big words. I'm expect one hell of an intelligent response from you.

because you americans hijacked the word and turned it into something it not is.
maybe that make sensew to you? if not I don't really care cause I look down upon american pollitics anyway. mostly because people like you that use words without understanding what it supposed to be.

edit: also the way you react says enough you not understand basics of politics even, but then again almost none of your citizens do over there.
Well, that was a total let down.

Your little grade school trantrum did nothing to progress the conversation. Your meanless rant was certainly not an argument, it was nothing more than a slew of insults. You presented me with zero facts in which to back up your pathetic insults. In fact I believe that I might be just a little bit dumber now for having bothered to read your useless reply.

Clearly you lack the mental capacity required to carry out a meaningful conversation on the subject, and I don't feel like picking on a short bus kid today. So buzz off little flea

Nah because of all the political mindsets, libertarian has got to be the most obviously unworkable.

The idea that the market being free and companies and so on being able to regulate themselves demonstrably NEVER works.

Sure, some parts or situations maybe good where a more libertarian approach might be OK, but not across the board.

The mere fact that companies continually, time and again, will screw with people, poison them, steal their water during droughts, and so demonstrates this is never a good idea.
Loosening regulations is very different from being laissez-faire. That's just one aspect of a multi-faceted belief. Different people have different interpretations of how things should be run.

There's also many different sides to politics, but we both know that anyhow.

A lot of Libertarians are in it for the social aspect, not necessarily the financial one, albeit not freezing people's bank accounts for protesting would be nice.

Most libertarians don't need a complete free-market economy to be happy, many just want the government to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the things they hold dear, like their right-to-speech.

I don't care what justification anybody has for restricting speech. Any laws are going to be one-sided, and discriminate. That's unacceptable.

Liberals and offshoot libertarians both align on the right wing economy with difference being aesthetics; "I believe in free speech but if push comes to shove don't go around trying to bring change or stand up for your rights if its going to make me uncomfortable and especially not if it's going to hurt my bottom line which is still profit" economically you want full privatisation and deregulation in every aspect of life including workplace, healthcare, transportation, energy and military exactly the same as conservatives (inherently bringing inequality and class oppression that translates to social issues) yet somehow this can still mean liberation for the individual in your mind...

It would be like advocating full corporate freedom and power at the helm which is what republicans want yet at the same time no bureaucracy no government and no police... how can this work?? This is the reason why conservatives at least deserve respect for being honest about themselves and what they want.

more or less -

"both sides are hellbent on controlling others..."

CHANNEL_124

the real reason people get into politics; to tell others what to do - (hope it's OK to quote part of a line) -

Can't even pretend I'm surprised most people here consider themselves to be libertarian. That just lines up with my previous experiences, though, because most libertarians seem to be people who still lean pretty heavily right wing but don't want to call themselves conservatives or anything else like that.

Then again, that makes sense, right? The center between liberal (right wing) and outright fascism, is unsurprisingly...still right wing.

Libertarian as a party or movement has been thoroughly highjacked by other parties. Most people I see calling themselves libertarian are just progressives who thinks it makes them look more intelligent to identify with a third party.

Since i'm more on the side of affordable health care for all + living wage + affordable normal houses prices for all, not the current beyond absurd housing prices + affordable education for all + far less if plausible zero corporate and lobbyism political power + more direct democracy (model similar to Switzerland with tweaks on a per country basis) + transparency and accountability + pro labor union + power to the people :insfist:, etc.

I would say not a libertarian per se. Still political labels & name calling are just being used as another tool to divide people into conflicting groups, thus enhancing the still ongoing US vs THEM mentality, that has been with humanity since a very long time ago.
