They don't make em like they used to, with some exceptions.
I had no games in my childhood other than boardgames..
but ok perhaps the commendore 64 with a casette player.. and the exact same joystick I had (which was actually an offbrand flight simulator stick that was much larger and better in the hand than the c64 own joystick.. and had 2 extra buttons..
-a cardridge with tooth invaders
and on casette :
**paperboy
**frogger
**boulderdash
**donkey kong
**packman
**lemmings
**duck hunt
**space invaders
**4 in a row
**and the special official dutch railway training program for train drivers.. (that was not to leave their office and I as a child certainly was not suppose to own but somehow did)
But I would not have an idea where to begin buying stuff like that must likely cost an absolute fortune...
your goal was to go from station to station... complete a track of 2 hours, with 20 stations to reach.
you were to give the depart signal witin 5 seconds of 1 minute before depart time.. you were to close the doors within 5 secoinds of depart time..
any more and instant game over..
than your time to reach the next station was very tight.. like a 2% margin of error vs the IDEAL speed.. but if you accelerated to fast.. or braked to harsh.. game over..
there were constant bends or special types of track that had different maximum speeds.. and than there were randomly tossed at you signals that would say that you would have to stop or slow down here... messing up your driving time.. and you had to somehow make up that time or else game over without causing game over in other ways..
when you than arrived at the station.. it always was only 2 meters longer than your 60 meter train.. that took hundreds of meters to come to a stop.. but your time table did not allow to slow down much in advance you baasicly had to drive as fast as allowed and that brake as steep as allowed.. like 1.5 km before the station and hope you somehow stopped within those 2 meters
it was TRUELLY brutal (but therefor fun)
I guess thats why it was the official for the 80s era train machinist training tool;)
trains must drive on scedule but also travelkers must have smooth experience without sudden accelerations... and you must uphold a gazillkion safety rules.. and there are ALWAYS changes happening.. delays of other trains.. broken overheads... a car on the rails.. snow on the rails.. leaves on the rails.. a broken switch.. a suicide jumper whatever... cause you to get a signal and delays or a detour.. and still travelers expect zero delays and don't you dare to not park the train that need many many meters to come to a standstill not perfectly next to the station platform..
quite realistic;)
Also that some of the games I played 15 years ago I still play them... V:
your a toddler minecraft is not childhood minecraft was like yestersay..
it is so recent it is not even part of college yeats or 20s.. it is firmly on my 30s aka yesterday..
even very recent stuff like when dexters lab and powerpuff girls first aired on the new channel cartoon networl happened well in the college years happened before minecraft.
minecraft = that game kids of today like somehow
Regarding remakes well i think the ghost & goblins was a good one but as a kid i was never even close to complete that so i won't bother buying it, but the coop was a nice touch.
