Yeah, I kinda share this opinion...
The problem is that most of the time times they do not know how to "draw the line" properly so they end up doing the whole anime about it IN SOME CASES 🤷♀️
They do not know how to find the balance, I know this sells in Japan like Donuts, but I am pretty sure a balance does not hurt...
And yes, I know I typed this a lot of times but anime has a problem with female characters, they are mostly terrible...
I do not care if they do the 🥵🥵 or the 👉👌 but if the entire anime is just 🥵🥵 and 👉👌 with no story and good characters, then bye bye...
more fan service = better
ecchi anime = not so much, when I was a teen sure, but doesn't really appeal to me anymore. (plus it get's boring)
The occasional fan service is fine. Making fanservice be besides the point (High school of the dead, Prison school, Kill la Kill) is alright.
But in cases like Maken-Ki!, Seikon no Quaser, Highschool DxD, Keijo, To LOVE-Ru, and Tejina-senpai, etc where ecchi takes the spotlight. I just lose interest and eventually drop.
It's like mixing two things I like; mashed potatoes and chocolate ice cream, and trying to make it work. It doesn't.
YAMETE KUDASAI
Huh, never thought of that... 🤔
with a bit of ecchi in it but the main focus is on how crass the characters are
means they can go further on some things especially comedies
it's like if you cut the line at showing skin or boobs or a bit of panty shots they cut out stuff
but if they don't it means they can go further and it usually is the case 80% of the time.
probably the 3 best ones i can think of that have ecchi / somewhat mostly ecchi in the past few years:
-hangani = the OG anime for outcasts. A good chunk of fan service but mostly crude humor
-konosuba = very little ecchi it's mostly toilet humor / parodying the genre of isekais
-gushing over magical girls = yo this one either idr but either the author oversaw the anime or he gave them the greenlight to make it much much more lewd and provocative while also being more hilarious / retaining that hilarity.
not just japanese media but ALL media outlets
space between stockings and skirt ending.
same basic issue.
