The sales have passed, not sure if the archive has them, but that's just about the extent I'd expect SBI to work with Valve, at most. Bit of money in exchange for an event or two.

I try not to, but even for me that'd be one gloomy pill to swallow: A company like that weaseling their way onto Steam in a substantial way.

I'd prefer if sales stuck to ACTUAL holidays, and game genres. I don't support politically-motivated sales, and I've never knowingly bought anything from one of them.

I recently watched a video by Mutahar (SomeOrdinaryGamers Youtuber) explaining SBI's influence, and have to say, that while I think they are a ridiculous consultation firm, I feel like their presence and value/contribution to a current or future game's sales and result is a bit exaggerated.

At worst, you get poor one-liners, LBGTQ, and bad flag representation in Spiderman 2, but I would not necessarily be instantly worrying that they'd ruin an entire game. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had plenty of other ♥♥♥♥ going wrong for it that ruined that game (the live service aspect perhaps being the biggest one).

SBI's involvement would have only been the "tip of the iceberg". I wanna say that the fear mongering about SBI's has had the unfortunate effect of blowing up "anti-wokeness" surrounding even games that WOULDN'T have anything to do with them.

GTA VI's TRAILER got people worrying about "woke" simply because the protagonist is a Latina female. As if somehow Rockstar wouldn't have made a Hispanic female protagonist without SBI's involvement. And there's no indication that SBI is even involved, but good luck explaining that to the "anti-woke" crowd.

there are other "consultation firms" outside of SBI that do much the same. SBI is getting the spotlight because of how notable their meltdown was.

I haven't heard anything about that, and I seriously doubt that would something they'd be doing or even making an announcement about. They're not Volition that bastardized the Saints Row series with their "sanitized" Saints Row reboot. Honestly, I've seen more hatred and criticism of GTA VI just based on a freaking trailer, that most people's criticisms should be taken with a grain of salt. They seem to be simply projecting fears due to other AAA games' "woke failings" unto a series known for MOCKING "wokeness" and other stereotypical representations of society's failings.

Valve this is disgusting. Why are you giving money to political groups? This company makes it clear that their focus is to politicize games and inject SJW issues into them.
