Why did the Vikings go extinct and die out?
Never understood what happened to them.

We know that the Mayas went extinct and that the Egyptians went extinct after they finished building the pyramids, but why the f*** did the vikings go extinct??

I don't think "going extinct" is the right phrase for it.
The people of previous civilizations didn't die out, they just got absorbed into other civilizations that came after the fall of their own civilization.
You could argue that they were "bred out," but that, unfortunately opens the door for racism and bigotry, and is besides the anthropological evolutionary point.

For example, Sumerians didn't "go extinct," they just were absorbed into the Akkadian Empire.
And Hell, for a great number of years the Akkadian Empire even preserved the original Sumerian language in liturgical and theocratic works. Down to a point that eventually it is true that Semetic dialectics become the dominant language per the Akkadians, but Sumerian was still reserved strictly for religious or spiritual practices and purposes. The Namburbi being perhaps one of the best examples of this.

Vikings aren't a people. It was an occupation. It died out when it was no longer profitable or acceptable to raid settlements by boat.

As for the ones most known for doing all the viking, Scandinavians still exist.

At some point people thought that raiding other settlements isn´t the best lifestyle choice - and mainly of course because they became Christians.

The Vikings never went extinct, they simply changed, and eventually developed nations of their own.

the Mayans like the Aztecs are the same, although Spanish conquerors came through and wiped out quite a few of them, the rest and Spanish colonists merged to become their own nations. they didn't die out they too changed.

Viking culture is raiding culture. Raiding 'wyk's, streams/rivers. Scandinavian culture never died out. Wyking/viking falls under lawlessness under modern national systems, the raids involved attacking, pillaging and murder. So they were probably forced to reconsider their way of life (under threat, ofc)

Why the F did you ever thought they were extinct in the first place ? Because you cant see them ? "Out of sight, out of mind" ? That denotes a deep unability to understand the interwoven tapestry of mankind throught time. Get some history clases, a LOT of them, and try to understand that the people that lived before us were ... just like us - they too had everyday struggles.
