Minecraft is boring as ♥♥♥♥.
I love GTA IV but I agree. I understood the hype 20 years ago but now there's nothing that special about it.
Because it's trendy. It's Among Us all over again.
Pokemon is trash.
other than model swaps, i just want to play a normal server. it is balanced and fun as it is.
I believe the original design intent of soldier was that he was powerful but slow, and if you used rocket jumping to mitigate the slowness, you sacrificed health every time as a tradeoff. The gunboats effectively removed this tradeoff, and made soldier really annoying to fight against. I'm by no means saying the gunboats are overpowered and/or need a nerf, just that all this is useful to think about.
Sales is just a number, that's all that it is.
Anything can be designed to cater towards profitability through appealing to the masses through sociological demographic data.
It does not equate however, to quality.
That is because numbers are quantity.
I also never got into Minecraft or Roblox for similar reasons.
I never really got into Call of Duty or Counterstrike, because First Person Shooters that take themselves way too seriously just bore me. I can't do it. It's a video game, I can't take it that seriously. For that exact same reason, I also never got into World of Warcraft or any MMO.
In Outlast you run with a speed of walking, completely breaks the immersion.
My favourite idea for a sniper rebalance is probably the one proposed by FiskStickOnAStick. Give the sniper rifles 4 shots in a clip and 16 in reserve, give the rifles classic style tracer rounds, and slightly increase time to quickscope.I was never too fond of the other ideas like reducing quickscope damage or adding mvm lasers.
Weapons that are just "stock but better (in practice)" are overpowered and should be nerfed. The Tomislav is the stock minigun but better. The Iron Bomber is the stock grenade launcher but better. The ubersaw is the stock bonesaw but better.
Random crits are silly, and have their place in the game, especially in casual. I'd rather tweak random crits to make them less annoying but still make them fun to play around with, as opposed to removing them altogether.
Friendlies are alright. In a non silly server, you can kill them if they're interrupting the objective, but there's no real point to going out of your way to kill friendlies.
Someone responded to me by saying that he’s easily dispatched by groups of enemies and has to rely on teammates to aid him, or something like that. Basically what he was saying is: the Soldier’s weakness is the same weakness that every other class has. Because for real, any class would be weak against a group, even the Pyro depending on how close he could get before they spot him.
Some might say that his weakness is the learning curve of rocket-jumping, but the thing is that Soldier doesn’t need it in order to function. If you can’t master Scout’s mobility, you’ll die due to his low health pool. If you can’t master rocket-jumping, sure you might be at a disadvantage against a Soldier that is good at it, but you can still contribute plenty to your team through raw damage numbers. One is a necessity, the other is just a bonus.
(Plus I think people give too much credit to the rocket-jumping argument. You only need to learn the basics in order to perform in most actual games; all that stuff you see people do on dedicated rocket-jumping maps, like multi-rocket launches, doesn’t come up in real games. That is purely for showing off and for those types of game modes.)
