I enjoy Mario Kart but hate that aspect and the purple shell.
Pretty sure all arcade racers are made for casuals. Never played them, but from what I heard Burnout and Need for Speed are apparently notorious for extreme rubberbanding.
Yes, GTA probably has more realistic and fair racing than dedicated racing franchises. GTA IV also probably has way better physics and damage modeling than 99% of them too.
That kind of sums up racing games as a genre. You either need to spend 250 bucks on a wheel and pedal to master a simulator-game ... or you get arcadey bs where the game plays like bumper cars. (Looking at you Forza Horizon).
That would actually make for a cool game, kind of like old-school Thief but in the cold war.
But who are we kidding. It's 2024, the the devs would f**k it up with silly x-ray vision, a spongey boss fight, level gating, and tiered weapons.
Some say James Bond shouldn't have gadgets but the real stealth killer weapons are all gadgets.
Nobody knows what the letters with white power was about but I guess it was just a test on how easy it would be to kill them.
Simulators (so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ones)
Open world RPGs, so many people define a RPG as being "good" when it's open world.
Yet so many open world RPG games are subpar compared to even SNES or even PS2 games in terms of being a refined experience.
I love exploring empty boring worlds just to collect a bunch of random ♥♥♥♥

But like said not rpg because the concept is very hard. You get to play annon.
Annon is not a person. It is just the actor used to move the object. Annon has a fixed name, fixed face and fixed background story.
You can make it a rpg but it is so simple and that make it hard. It is easier to add content than to make it grow with the game.
The closest we can get is mmorpg.
But the issue is that we are asking for rpg and not mmorpg and without the humans we haven't had the tool available until recently to create real rpg games.
Those games like the witcher are not rpg. It is action adventures.
