Never had the luxury of playing that even on the NES. River City Ransom though... was always a decent rental from Blockbuster.

True. It's often said Takeshi Kitano hates video games and deliberately made the one with his name on it as terrible as possible (and according to some accounts, he was completely plastered when brainstorming for much of it), but it's also said he originally proposed Takeshi's Castle as a Live Action Super Mario.

I really wish the entire unedited run of that show could get subtitled released, without annoying foreign voiceover commentary. Though admittedly, the hilarious banter between hosts might not be translatable, since Takeshi-san was a manzai comic first and foremost, and wordplay and puns are always difficult to translate.

The FFXIII Trilogy aren't really bad games, but unworthy of the Final Fantasy name.

Would have been okay as it's own ip. Not great, but okay.

And yet that "souless" game was probably one of the few FF games I could stomach playing through and actually enjoying.
