So to make this short, I used to be pretty cool with my cousin. We would sometimes have conversations in discord and occasionally queue in valorant. However, after a while, it was becoming apparent that I’m not really that close with her so I decided to just leave her discord server and unfollow her on all social media platforms.

However, there is one social media app called “Medal” where you share gaming highlight clips with other people. (It’s like the instagram of gaming clips.) In that app, you can view who has seen your clips.

One of my clips was seen by my cousin back in December. I thought it was strange because I blocked her but I guess medal doesn’t block people from viewing your videos. And then recently as of today, she viewed 3 of my recent videos.

Is this stalking or no? And if it is, what do I do.

I don’t have the full story of course but I feel like this one is on you. Did you actually have a falling out or did you just block them because you were tired of them? That’s pretty cold imo. And liking a couple posts does not equate to stalking

No.

It's just that simple - It is not stalking and you're very likely overreacting. I'm also unsure why you would go to such an extent to block and unfriend/whatever your cousin in the way you did. If your cousin were to post a thread asking why their cousin treated them that way with no discernible reason, the replies would not be flattering to you.

…That's not stalking. If you've blocked them, then you've done everything you can do. If someone is actually stalking you - we're talking following you everywhere, leaving threatening messages, sending odd packages to your house, et cetera et cetera - then contact the police in your jurisdiction. What your cousin is doing isn't stalking, and any cop worth their badge - as well as those who aren't because police reform is genuinely needed - will laugh you out of the station at the bare minimum, and at worst you'll be punished by the long arm of the law for wasting their time because that is a crime in multiple jurisdictions.

I repeat - you've blocked them. Just move on. Blocking people is only part of the toolkit when it comes to dealing with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the internet. You've also got to ignore them and know when to report and for what. And I seriously doubt you could report them for watching your content on a social media app.

Plus look at the bright side - she gave you three views. Some people don't get any views in three months. You're already doing better than them, even if someone is spite watching you.

Also, they might just be jealous. So that's on them!

Basically nothing. Digital stalking is not illegal in most nations and those that do have laws against it have very light punishments against it. Like in the state of california, cyberstalking is illegal but the worst punishment you'll get is a slap on the wrist and to knock it off.

The thing is, you'd require proof and in the US the irony of there being laws against cyberstalking are ironically defeated by most legal system's not allowing proof from digital sources so its less of a law that works and more of a double edged sword of "Why does this law even exist to start with"

She's probably wondering why the ♥♥♥♥ her cousin blocked her on every platform for no apparent reason and stopped talking to her. Do you guys not go to the same family gatherings? It's gotta be awkward!
