Why do people pay full price for games?
I paid one dollar for Game Pass to have it for two weeks. I played some Palworld, Forza 5, and I beat Atomic Heart and Hi-Fi Rush. One dollar. I'll never play those games again.

People like to have the newest thing. I never buy games Day 1. I wait until it's $30 or less. 99% of games are not worth the $70 price tag.
1) I want to support the devs of games I like. It improves the odds that they'll be able to make more;

2) I tend to play my games again at a later time, so I've no interest in subscription/streaming/etc services vs buying.
Money is worthless unless you spend it.
I like to pay for my games since I want to support the devs and I have enough disposable income to do so. If I buy it at full price or on sale depends on how expensive the game is and what I think its worth, but either way I pay for it.
Buy bundles
I think the main reason is because they want to play the game when they want to play it, and do not necessarily have to bother waiting around for a discount. It can be a hassle to continuously check. This is especially true of people who have money to spare burning a hole in their pocket. It can get to be quite the hassle.

Moreover, if you are the competitive sort, you might want a copy of the game A.S.A.P. for practice or to try and set some sort of world record speed-run before somebody else has the chance to beat you to it.

Also, some people do not mind overpaying to try and help nudge the industry in the direction they would like it to go in the future, by contributing to a higher sales total. If money talks, then paying $70 says more than paying $50.

It might help you understand better if you try to stop thinking of games as being "full price" and start thinking of them as if they have a 0% discount, with a 0% discount being the discount threshold at which these people are willing to buy.

Not everyone is poor.
Because they can
If one is financially able and wants something right away, why not?

It depends on what full price is as not every game is released at $60.

Stardew Valley is worth full price, so is Radiant Silvergun, and the Toaplan bundles are worth $20 for 4 shooters.

This is IMSHO.
oh my god....thanks so much for posting about radiant silvergun, i had a copy of the original on the saturn but the disc was seriously burned by a dodgy laser, its got to be next on my steam list.
i dont know if you have this already but if you dont- have a look into R-type dimensions Ex, its a decent challenge.

there are certain games i will pay full price for ,and have paid in full for quite a few.
like when FORZA horizon 4, and then 5 both came out, i paid for them in full and also bought FH5 at full price for someone who really deserved a copy.
i just like driving round the maps, especialy the UK one in no.4 as some of it is recogniseable if you happen to live or know the areas. it helped me get used to playing online without having to chat directly to people which i really struggle with, its also helped me keeping sane as im unable to go out without support staff who can drive my motability car (all but 2/3 can drive) so its very useful to have a big game like FH5 to drive round,i find it very calming until you get people trying to show off or flying past you in the sky, clearly cheating ,i just want to chill and drive.

i paid full price for STRAY,because even though it was indie,it was more than worth it and it goes to help developers get better and more experienced at the job.
Because they can and becuase they get money every month :steambored:
This question could apply to anything really, why do people pay full price for food, why do people buy micro transactions, why do people pay thousands for a skin.... I can only guess the only answer to this is because people do.

Plus to most western people that is, a full price game costs less than a day's wage.
I have preferences for indie games even though I like games from huge companies too, like Forza, Need For Speed and other things. I think I pay for it simply because I wanted to have it as a child and feel like it's a way to support creators.
because they can afford it. Scrub.
