I want to be able to walk, livremente, without a car or a cellphone.
I want walkable cities in which I can exist as a human being.
Why? Do you require distractions because you lack inner peace?
Soo hmmm idk but it feels like i always had the phone or internet with my computer
Would be super weird not having it
If its not that, they expect you to open some QR code (with no readable link below whatsoever) to fill aplications or even read the freaking menu.
If it was option, okay, but many restaurants don't even print a single menu and expect you to have a phone with you all of the times.
Reality is even worse:
1) phones are usually multiple minimum wages and people pay them in very expensive monthly parcels. Not everyone has a last-generation smartphone.
2) mugging here is off the charts. People lose their phones before finish paying them.
3) Because we're a developing nation, most eldery have no clue on how to use smartphones, but they're expected to get their government beneffits or do anything else via smartphones. The government now says: "ask your neighbor for help", which is against the other campaign against the huge amounts of scams and thefts against eldery people "don't trust people to help or do your things for you".
I can't imagine
I mean yes, it would make life a little more challenging, but the benefits would be worth it.
Have you ever seen the guy who quit the internet for a year?
Listen to this, it's amazing.

Even those ppl who are like "b-BuT I hAte PhOnEs" or "WiSheD I liVed On A ErA wItHoUt pHoNeS" still use them...
And before anybody tells me "oh but you are required to have a phone for some things"... Yeah, that is true, but complaining on social media about phones and/or social media is CLEARLY not a requirement or a must do thing, you do not need to complain about social media and phones on social media (+ you get nothing out of It, in this case) making it a lame excuse and also makes it impossible to take these ppl seriously
About social media, i quit the most, i was active on insta and also facebook a lot at 14 and early 15 (when i'm honest i just showed off there like a lot), beside the usual like spending hours for basically nothing by just browsing stuff it also got weird like with message requests and comments i got from really weird ppl and overall it made me quit (+ also some from school were trying to bully me and reported images i posted multiple times again and again and i also had some trouble with facebook then)
I still use some social media but it's more like 'when its needed' not that i really want to
What I do see, and am too among them, is people wishing for being able to leave their houses without carrying a phone all of the time. No one is against telephony - that I know of.
People aren't asking for no internet either: you can check your emails at home/work or carry your smartphone from time to time.
The problem is being expected to use them always, and be reachable through it, always.
Also, people hate a lot of things and are force to use them. Do you think the entire population of English speakers love the language, specially those to whom its not their native tongue? Or do you think everyone is super excited about Capitalism and having to work all day to barely have enough for housing and alimentation?
"Heh, you say you dislike Y, and there you are, using/being a part of it." is a terrible recurrent gotchya.
