what i dislike is when the best songs are the shortest songs in the album.

I don't know, it really depends. I am divided on this matter. On one hand there is the instant gratification impulse, on the other the broader environment and frame must be constructed for something to be made manifest fully.

Rural green is a good example of this.

Most of the buildup is gone. So maybe it's more designed for listening to tracks as singles, rather than an album.

You know what I absolutely hate? When you get a song in your head but you only replay the same catchy part over and over and over it drives me insane.

That would be called Tension & Release, and no, I actually love it.
Of course it wouldn't make any sense in like your standard ABA Format.
But it's not for that. It's a totally different type of writing style.
Neither is better or worse than the other, but rather the two things just aren't the same.
Most of the songs I like tend to be within the 7:00 - 20:00 range.

yeah. especially when the song also fades out during that part, so you cant even replay it in a reasonable manner.

And not only that... but the songs are split so that half a second of the next track plays after the fade.
