Something good to eat when sick
I got mono, been sick for nearly 2 weeks. My taste buds are out of wack and many foods taste terrible. So far I've been living off of fruit cause it still tastes ok. What are some good foods that are good for when you are sick and your taste buds are affected?

I know chicken soup is a good choice, but I don't just want to eat the same meal for weeks. I am capable of eating other foods, like bananas and apples

I usually eat salty things. It wont make you throw up when you are nauseous already.
Potato chips, salty crackers etc.
Chicken soup.

I like lemon ginger tea with a zicam tablet. The hot ginger tea soothes the throat and the zicam tablet gives you an immune boost. Plus it helps hydrate you.

some swear by brands, like it has to be Campbell's or Lipton in the package you add four cups of water too

And they curse the store brand names, no names etc

No name chicken noodle soup in the box/envelope , the broth don't mix in right when making

Congee; it's basically rice overcooked into a soup but you can add meat and vegetables similar to a soup. Pasta, noodles and similar crbs can work as it is soft and easy on the stomach.

Side note: Personally I make my own chicken soup which is diced chicken, muschooms, salt and optional creamy corn. But the main trick is to add egg whilst stiring to create a marble effect and a dash of sesame oil to give the aroma and a nice glass finishing. Corn flour is optional to thicken the soup.

Chicken soup is bandied about by the sheep just because it's supposed to be pretty innocuous and neutral to the stomach.

Mutton soup anyone?

Rice pasta, noodles with tuna in spring water. No dairy products or high protein stuff. Light eggs not fried - all the easy going stuff but typically I have no idea what 'mono' is.
