I guess this all circles back to the original topic. AI won't completely replace dating but I think a lot of lonely losers will utilize AI instead of real dating. Which is already a thing nowadays with stuff like porn, sex dolls, and the AI girlfriends that exist already.

I think it will replace dating for some people. Why? Because they have mental and emotional disorders that are untreated because pop-culture-pop-psy society says there is "nothing wrong with them."

It's not a total loss, as any genetic influences for those behaviors will be naturally weeded out by simple selection. But, that would still leave a much larger portion of the population who are responding to induced psychoses that could still accidentally reproduce.. in a society that increasingly seems intent on creating such a state. It's worrisome, to be sure.

It has already happened for some people. Japan comes to mind and there are plenty of biopics/stories, there. But, they probably have the most commonly dysfunctional male population to date, with maybe South Korea being next? /unsure The US is quickly catching up, though. Go US!

I'm all for it - Stay out of the pool and there's more room for everyone else!

While technically good in regards to pro-malthusian theory & the eco-fascism groups, isn't that a bit of eugenics / social darwinism? There's has to be a way to find a humane solution to the problem.

Japan already got a minister of loneliness and it's working albeit slowly in regards to hikikomoris, the U.S: surgeon general already declared it an epidemic on par with tobacco use & obesity. There's still time to fix the issues.

The danger of AI is they keep making them subscription or internet connection based. So that you might lose your AI partner one day. Or find them censored like replika was.

That would be in the case AI doesn't reach Singularity and deems humans & all life forms in this planet "obsolete". There's many things that can go wrong with AI, same with nuclear tech in general both are dangerous double edge type of tech.

I still do believe there's a humane way to solve most problems going around. Humanity in general should avoid commiting the same mistakes over and over again. There's already an absurd level of US vs THEM mentality and division going around, why create even more?
