Indisputable Fact: Ignorance Is Bliss
The less aware one is, the more their worldview can exist in the realm of fantasy. The more a person knows, the more they are burdened by the cold, harsh realities of life.

Think of how much happier you were by default as a child. Everything was wondrous unless others made it not so. Not a care in the world.

Perhaps why even the worst of relationships start off good, because the couples don't know much about one another. They can fill in the gaps of what is still a mystery with their imagination.

Turn on the news, and it can easily bring you down. Better to be ignorant of how fast the world is burning and only be concerned with our immediate surroundings.

Maybe you've heard of the geniuses and prodigies who took their own life, because their intellect was so far above the norm that they couldn't relate to others.

It's like the story of the Garden of Eden. Humanity wasn't meant to have too much knowledge, the knowledge of good and evil. But then they ate of the fruit and paradise was lost. Now everyone has a handheld device that puts knowledge at their fingertips, on the back of many the icon of a bitten fruit. And depression rates are rising higher than ever.

"You will know nothing, and you will be happy".

The innocence of childhood and the wisdom of adulthood are rather painfully mutually exclusive.

Ignorance is bliss: The ultimate proclamation for a dunning kruger fool. Ignorance is bliss. Sure buddy. The ignorant won't have any other state to compare to so how would the fool know?

"The only true knowledge is knowing that you know nothing." -Socrates(Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure)
That was in informative read OP. However, by posting this info I think you should Google for the definition of irony.

It seems you should be very happy.

Ooh an ambiguous statement. How bold! You're either claiming I'm happy because I'm not ignorant or claiming I'm very ignorant and should be happy because of that. Amazing. So smart~!

You need knowledge of something to be able to ignore it though...

This made me smile, my grandma used to go on and on about politics and nuclear weapons and the evils of this thing and that thing.
So I had to take an interest in world affairs from like first school.
several years of this and she asked me what worried me about the world so I said nukes, famine etc etc all the things we been talking about for years.

She said well I asked your sister this and she said absolutely nothing and in a magazine i read it said if the child has nothing to worry about they are truly happy.

- so you made me miserable about the state of the world and my sister who at that time knew little about the world is the shining example :/

Still it made me appreciate Reagan all the more (my grandma hated Reagan).

The Devil is in the details.
But how much of the knowledge at your finger tips can be believed or trusted?

People don't know more now, they just think they do.

You can't know bliss if you are ignorant, so really the saying says more about people who think they are wise.

Yea, but that is ignorance. I'd rather be smart and worldly than be ignorant regardless of how much its going to suck.

Here's another fun fact for you, realizing that life isn't all it's cracked out to be doesn't make you special. Smugly whining about it, on the other hand, just makes you insufferable.

Agree 100%

I mean knowledge also enables to solve or at least tackle problems.

Then ignorance is only bliss, because some people are ignorant. Which then means ignorance is the cause of the problems, or rather the sad part really...
