Indisputable Fact: Ignorance Is Bliss
The less aware one is, the more their worldview can exist in the realm of fantasy. The more a person knows, the more they are burdened by the cold, harsh realities of life.

Think of how much happier you were by default as a child. Everything was wondrous unless others made it not so. Not a care in the world.

Perhaps why even the worst of relationships start off good, because the couples don't know much about one another. They can fill in the gaps of what is still a mystery with their imagination.

Turn on the news, and it can easily bring you down. Better to be ignorant of how fast the world is burning and only be concerned with our immediate surroundings.

Maybe you've heard of the geniuses and prodigies who took their own life, because their intellect was so far above the norm that they couldn't relate to others.

It's like the story of the Garden of Eden. Humanity wasn't meant to have too much knowledge, the knowledge of good and evil. But then they ate of the fruit and paradise was lost. Now everyone has a handheld device that puts knowledge at their fingertips, on the back of many the icon of a bitten fruit. And depression rates are rising higher than ever.

"You will know nothing, and you will be happy".

Except that I am not burdened by the cold, harsh realities of life. Embracing reality is what enabled me to shake off four years of depression.

And I had a very unhappy childhood, mainly because much of what I was taught conflicted with the cold, harsh realities of life.
Wait, what're we talking about?

"Ahh...You think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING."

I looked into the abyss until it looked back, and now we are not exactly allies, but at least comfortable in each other's presence.

Nice. Nietzsche right?

"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster."

Yes. Some might consider me a monster, but I don't fight them. More like coexist.
Ignorance is bliss ... until it kicks you right in the rear end.

It eventually will. Trust me on that.
