How possible is it to get a following on social media if I post gameplay videos of different genres?
I just post videos casually from moments I play in different games. Though I'm curious if it's possible to get a following if I post videos from different genres. Like one day I'll post a video of a singleplayer game I play but then post a moba video or fighting game video in the next.

I may seem impolite to you,
but you need to do something, and not talk about how many videos you can make. Sorry in advance...
Surely you have potential and you are capable of something, and if you don’t know how to do something now, you will learn in the process.

I just realized I may have worded my post wrong. I'm not interested in being a gameplay youtuber or twitch streamer. I post clips only. Recently I'm trying to get into editing.

These videos aren't mine but should give you an idea of what I'm trying to do.

use the shorts function

but uncheck "notify subscribers"

the algorithm likes new engagement
if you notify all your current subs and only 10% watch it
it will get pushed farther down, if it's mainly only getting new
engagement, it will be pushed higher. they want people to stay on the
platform as long as possible.

If you are doing it as a hobby, do whatever you want. But if you are looking for clout, my opinion is you have to bring something to the table. Any numbnut with a phone can play video games and upload it - it's insane how many people think they are awesome enough for people to spend their free time watching them do literally what anyone else can do. You gotta either be hella good, or bring something that sets you apart from others.

Yeah. That's why I'm trying to learn how to edit videos and post only plays that I *think* are good.

Boring.

They all have to play whats new and hot. Atleast the vast majority who are unlucky do.

Probably what you mean is a presence on social media.
Yeah something like that. I honestly just want to show people some cool clips and what I can do.
Play games you have a passion for, don't focus on whats "new and hot"

The market for trend gameplayers is super over-saturated it's not even worth trying.

If a game you want to play happens to be trending then that is great but don't force yourself to play or discuss things you really have no pleasure in doing so.

Just put a lot of effort into each video and people will come naturally, it'll be very slow but it'll happen if you post with some regularity.

Oh yeah. Im not interested in what variety gaming youtubers do. Honestly, I don't understand how they can play those different types of games because most of them are boring. I usually just watch competitive/professional players because usually they play one or two games that I main. That or watch guides and tutorials from professionals/ competitive players for games I'm trying to learn.
most gamers that does well on the streaming platform usually have a theme going on that make them look unique compared to the average gamer.

Social media is usually just a suplements to a twitch or youtube channel rather then being the main way to reach an audience for most peoples.

I've seen several gaming account on twitter that post gaming clip on a regular basis but they're not the peoples that have the largest following and what they post usually have pretty low impression numbers.

Have you considered using a megaphone, or perhaps starting a cult?

They actually don't. There are people who like watching streamers who DON'T play what's new and hot. Those streamers step out of the mediocrity.
