So, who here doesn't use a case for their smartphone?
I just don't get it. I work with a few guys who don't use a case for their smartphones, and they all have large cracks on their screen from repeatedly dropping their phones. I've noticed this trend among young people, Is it because they view tech as a disposal item today?

Granted, I hate the otter box. Its too bulky but I can't deny that it protects the phone very well from spills and drops. I use a $20 gel case. I also have a portfolio case that I'll use from time to time. The gel case is very slim and unobtrusive. The one thing I've noticed is how slick and slippery phones are today. With phones costing as much as a new laptop today ($1500 and higher) I just don't get it.

Got a cheap smart/dumb phone. No cracks no case. Don't go out much, old.
A good case would probably be the cost of the phone. Crapdroid can't even keep time without resetting itself. Basically just a display unit

I can't imagine spending big money on a mobile phone

Best phone I ever had was a used Blackberry I got for $50.
I accidentally ran over it with a forklift. It fell out of my pocket as I was getting onto the forklift.
It shot out from under the wheel and hit the rollup door so hard it rattled the door.
Amazingly, it worked for another 9 months before it totally bricked.
They don't make them like that no more.

I've never dropped a phone or cracked a screen.

I'm not weak minded. I'm sharp.

Even if someone else eating a pork pie walked into me, Id either dodge them or grab my phone out of the air while its falling... isn't that something we learn by age 10 ?

I view cases and screen protectors like I do a diaper for babies or old people.

They are also more waste for the landfill and a scam. IE they only work if you're lucky, and they also don't do anything most times except make you look poor and clumsy.

IMO if you can't function without dropping something, you shouldn't drive, date, walk, cook, ride a bike.

Get back to basics ... go crawl around on the ground and get good, then learn walking .. and eventually walking and sitting while holding a tiny thing.

You're welcome :KneelingBow:

I did not use for one - the reason being the model was not very popular making it hard to find one for it. All cases in the market seem to be for iPhone and Samsung only lol.

A couple of drops in the floor later scratches did appear in the screen.

Cases are very important for me not only for protection. You can stuff things inside, and makes holding the phone much easier when taking photos and especially videos for prolonged periods of time.

I just used the free one that came with the phone, never had any issues.

I don't use a "case", just a so-called "leather" cover.

And no, I don't drop my phone. And it doesn't cost $1500, not even close.

Never used a case, never will. Imagine paying $1500 for a phone :WH3_greasus_rofl:

Hammer Of Evil 2 FEB 2024 a las 5:38 p. m.
i dont use a case. just have pants with deep pockets, phone goes in there.

screen is crack free, i dont pull my phone out carelessly or with dirty hands.

edit: paying 1000 for a phone is already a bad idea, i don't subscribe to the whole 'phone needs to be a tiny laptop' philosophy. i dont need a phone like that.

My current one is rugged (Crosscall), plus i bought it from a shop that was closing and that one phone was new but at a 50% sale. Look for outdoors/rugged option and you'll be set.

I'm regularly throwing it on the ground to troll and mock the Iphone-havers (almost true, only did it 4 times).

I don't use a case also neither go for the $1500 phones. A phone doesn't need to be a mini notebook, at least until we got cheap mass production of 1nm that their temps don't go above 24 °C / 75 ° F even during a stress test.

Well, phone cases are not expensive... 🤷‍♀️

Plus, they make the phone look more Kawaii

IDR the name of it but I had a phone years and years ago where it was designed to be abused. That phone was amazing. No case and I could throw it at the wall from across the room without it being damaged.

I accidentally ran it over with an ATV once and it got buried in the mud. I called it to find it and the damn thing worked fine.
