Once either side realizes that, it's over.. And so it repeats, because nobody wants to be alone.
Exceptions will always exist.

Was living on half a former paycheck, and on the last 3 months before I moved out of that city.
All my friends had already moved out of there. I had 1 friend I talked to daily.
I was in my late 20s at the time.
THAT, was the most lonely I ever was.
It got bad. Really bad.
Like me drunkenly hallucinating and talking to myself in my own apartment just to hear another voice level of bad.
I'm damn sure no extrovert, but I also was not prepared for THAT much solitude, either.
It's easier for me to talk to people, despite my introversion, due to that experience.
It also very much reminds me of watching Damien Echols talk about how he survived 8 years in solitary confinement on death row of the 18 years he was in prison for crimes he did not commit.
He said something along the lines of how you can either let your mind rot and slowly go insane, or you can try to make your space into a monastery for yourself, and learn to try to own your own mind better. First things first, you need a schedule for yourself. Thereafter, you need to clean. These are basic things but they are very damned important basic things if you're trying not to go crazy from too much solitude.
I do share what's on my mind without making things up.. And the reality just happens to be cruel, there's not much else to it.
I don't really disagree with your point about acquitances, but that's because I haven't said a thing about them.
Some friendships do last long, some don't.. And I do believe that the term friendship is so subjective that it means something else to every other person.
i dunno who i am, but i know u r the person who makes me blush far too many times
