Humans are too weak to have it any other way.

By the time everyone's WW2 timelines resolved Hitler wasn't interfacing with reality anymore. He knew ghost divisions like vampire regiments existed on both sides of the field, and he vaguely knew the 7th Ghost Panzer International was responsible for the initial success of the Battle of the Bulge. And he knew people in all of those regiments understood and admired parts of his vision.

But he couldn't understand why any of them would be working against him, because he simply wasn't in control of anything anymore. Least of all himself. It's like his presence itself was an excuse for everyone to go to war, and nothing he personally did would ever change that.
