Probably means there's a politically correct remake on the way.

Nobody knows why yet.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I heard games usually get delisted over copyright issues, like music. Someone in a Reddit thread suggested it could be over the Star Spangled Banner cover in the game's main menu, but I doubt it's because of that as the game has been out for ten years now. Though I know nothing about copyright so I could be wrong.
Murgen Jan 29, 2024 @ 9:17pm
Oh yeah, it's probably related to some of the music copyrights.

Could be the case, what a sad state of affairs. In an alternative universe there might be a chance it got a remake / remaster, there's few game that have very solid story telling about serious topics.
Meanwhile there is a terrorist game on Steam...

Ugh, I hate this, especially because it's very plausible.

I thought the star spangled banner was public domain so there is no copyright and can't be copyrighted even a cover.

The Star-Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key on September 13, 1814, and became the national anthem of the United States of America shortly afterwards. It is considered public domain, although derivatives of public domain can be copyrighted.

Given the nature of the game, it is possible that Valve took a pre-emptive measure in the wake of certain real-world events that would otherwise put the Steam Community at risk.

It wouldn't be the first time Valve had to cater to a vocal minority of non-consumers.
Yes i know the exact history of the star spangled banner had to write an essay on it back in 2nd grade. Got an A+ on it the only child in my class to get an A+.

But was stating that it don't have a copyright any longer.
