Is slippery slope really a logical fallacy?
We believe it can be a good argument, When there is reason to believe it can and likely will happen.

Slippery slope, is like in a game of chess, planning 3 moves ahead of the current move based on what you've already seen, or by the possible moves you assume someone to make.

That's not what it means at all. It means once you start in a certain direction, you will not be able to stop.

You have the right idea.

yes, slippery slope is a logical fallacy. there's a difference between reasonable predictions & wild claims as 2 where something might lead. it is a good idea 2 try 2 think of ur opponents next move in chess. it is a bad idea & a fallacy 2 declare ur victory 10 moves b4 u think u have checkmate

It's only a fallacy if it doesn't actually happen.

Today its a conspiracy, even if its proven true.

People misuse it.

A slippery slope fallacy is "I'm buying video games and that means the world is going to end because everyone focuses on hedonistic media pleasure instead of work."

It doesn't make sense.

A slippery slope is not inherently a fallacy.

Saying "If you buy DLC companies will make DLC for people to buy." Is not a fallacy.

"La pente savonneuse, également appelée pente fatale, pente glissante ou doigt dans l'engrenage, est un argument de direction qui exagère les conséquences d'une thèse en imaginant une chaîne de conséquences aboutissant à une conclusion catastrophique et en insinuant qu'il n'y pas moyen de s'arrêter en chemin." On the one hand, it assumes facts not in evidence and that are often difficult to prove with certainty.

However, on the other hand, in practical matters it is something that must be considered - Actions have consequences and exploring those possibilities is necessary to determine the desirability or risk of the action.

It can not be ignored out of hand.

No, key word here being "logical". It's an informal fallacy.

Most of the informal fallacies were either constructed for political purposes, or they're not actually fallacies. Most of them are cognitive heuristics.
