Recommendation of good free games on Steam?
I dont have the best laptop so I'd ask yalls experience in Steams variety of free games available. Preferably games that can be played offline but online is fine

try eternal card game. its a cross between magic the gathering and hearthstone. and the good thing is you dont need to spend money to get more cards. you can get more cards by just playing and grinding.

Not Steam but GOG has a decent number of free games, most of which shouldn’t be too demanding on your hardware

Star Control 2/ The Ur Quan Masters is another one I recommend. There’s an older version of SC2 on steam but that lacks voice acting, and UQM has a steam page but isn’t up yet. The open source version is completely free and safe. It runs perfectly on my school laptop which is a piece of junk

Most of them are visual novels, one is a turn-based strategy visual novel..
There're definitely gonna be some more, but those are the ones I can recommend based on my own personal experiences. I can assure you, they're all having a very entertaining story, especially Everlasting Summer.

Cinderella's story might be somewhat repeatetive, considering it has routes tied to each love interests. It does even have a sequel to it, but that one isn't free.

In the end, the same goes for Sunrider; The sequels aren't free anymore, but have decent stories.. Their main focus is the satisfying turn-based combat, if you ask me, and they've even polished it in the newest sequel.
Oh, and don't misunderstand Sunrider Academy while I'm at it - That one is merely a fan based project with no relation to the original story whatsoever.

Cinderella Phenomenon;
Everlasting Summer;
It gets so lonely here;
Rising Angels: Reborn;
Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius.

All of them can be played offline and shall have no high demands in regards to your hardware, although Mask of Arcadius may have somewhat of a bit more difficult processing to load, but it shouldn't be anything to make it impossible to play.
