But, one that I think should have been done is one he wrote under his pseudonym Richard Bachman. And that one is "The Long Walk."
I think Stephen King shines in one area over others... and that's authentic dialogue and banter. The entire story is basically these interpersonal relationships and character development through banter and dialogue while they are in this tough situation.
I think this would make an excellent short movie. I don't think they need to take liberties with it. I don't think they need to add to it, but it will be pretty short for a movie.
Great series, but it's pretty decidedly deep into that "fantasy back-alley skullduggery" thing that is kind of difficult to translate to a screen. It'd be interesting to see if they could manage it, though.
It's got a niche fantasy-reader fanbase and uses tropes they're familiar with. It's like Rothfuss' "The Name of the Wind"/whatever series. That uses a lot of tropes to hook fantasy readers.
Then again, "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman got a TV-series..It's a "We Have Harry Potter At Home" rip-off... and got a full series. Nothing like the first book, as the TV series is about a bunch of hot teens humping each other. :) (Or whatever)
I think if we lived in a world where the film industry hadn't spent the last several decades repeatedly proving they cannot be trusted with any sort of adaptation, I'd be willing to give The Caves of Steel a try. But that's the only one I can think of where the best part(s) of the book would even make sense on the big screen.
Animals with their own cultures 'sort of like humans but not' and living in the woods.
A surprising good read with conflict and interesting stuff and one I read had armies going to war.
Weasels = very bad, which sucked because I love the look of weasels.
This would be great to make into a series/movie. It's been done 2.5 times, though...

Tubi has the series for free: https://tubitv.com/series/2361/redwall

Netflix was/is supposed to be making a series out of it.
/agreed
He takes characters, makes them into exactly what is needed, no more and no less, and isn't afraid to put them in crazy situations and play it out, all the way. Stereotypes and just plain "weird" characters get exactly what they need, and no more, in order to work in the story. His dialogue is outstanding and his conversational tone is just darn awesome.
If there's a haunted paper-clip that a sex-fiend wants because it reminds him of his mother... Stephen King will write a novelette about it. If he's got an ounce of coke... it'll only take a couple of hours.. :)
That is great and happy to see it coming again! Thanks for posting it up I had zero idea this was made.
I'll have to look for another site to watch it on Tubi is not available where I am.

The Killing Star
Not just the one book. All four are one story. I just re-read them after thirty years -- I last read them when I was in my 20s -- and I do believe it's one of the best SF epics ever written.
Absolute banger of a book.
Toss all the filth the Disney scum had a hand in into The Maw.
Their real mistake was leaving complete garbage like Episode 2 Canon.
