People do every day. Your phone, pc, car, etc. And your gov may require it by law. And the people do nothing about this. And that is why its fine, because people do nothing and always will do nothing.

I do think people are overly sensitive about it at times... You should like targeted ads, for example. If you're going to get ads, and you are, at least make them relevant to something you like. I'd rather see movie or game trailers than old people medicine for example.
However, there's a less desirable side... like the government subpeona and finding out you shopped at a gas station where a crime happened nearby. Thus making you a suspect just because you stopped to get gas somewhere.
