Why Doesn't VALVe Do Anything about "Loli" Anime Content?

Many things, not even covertly, OPENLY hint at THAT stuff while being all very popular. How is this even remotely acceptable??? Groups with names like "[...] Appreciators" shouldn't have a place on Steam.

I would be more curious about what others would say regarding people that are over 18 but portray themselves as being teenagers, etc. in porn.

There are also porn actresses that are over 18 but look very young, you would probably think they were a minor if you saw them.

In the end, my personal opinion is that they are fictional cartoon characters and it doesn't matter. I think there are more pressing issues in the world that need to be dealt with, such as abuse material involving actual real minors, sexual slavery/trafficking, etc.

If someone is a pedophile, I would actually much rather have them jerk it off to cartoons and not go beyond that. Same for people that are furries.

You can find a surprising amount of objectionable material posted on the community page for old, low-pop, little-known games on Steam, too. Just... right there - Click on the game's community page and... there ya go, just random junk staring you in the face.

Because banning it would have a severe knock-on effect in controlling media down to publishing level. We wouldn't have Saw or many slasher movies because it might rouse sadists(the medical definition not what the BDSM community calls sadism, they know psychological sadism is dangerous.) Should a naked child floating in a cloning tube be banned? should we be afraid to make aliens like Salarians or Keidrans which age faster than humans because there might be some potential inclusion there? What about people like Yoko Litner of Gurren Lagann who is 14....according to a calendar that doesn't have the sun and moon so who even knows. All the court will care about is the number on the fact sheet. What about something as, because of California law, a health 16 year old recruit celebrating in a bar after a major city has been assaulted and retaken, should the write be afraid to have the local wenches go near him?

yeah I mean for me it's more about prevention.

We've seen things like the war on drugs play out and how they were a colossal failure. Meanwhile countries that actually focused on helping people rather than going after the drug supply/dealers got extremely great results.

I think the same logic should be applied here and these things should be studied, and then of course help should be given. A lot of people have very weird sexual fantasies, disorders, etc.
I would rather they get help, and until then as long as they aren't actually harming someone, then I think it's an alright enough solution.

I do think going after tame content like this will only make them seek it out even more, until they stumble on actual illegal content which is much worse.

Well, that's an entirely different topic. Violence has always been part of art, whether its target audience is adults or teens. Heck, kids play with toy guns. Trying to equal both things simply doesn't work.

Exactly, it's disgusting. In my humble opinion, people who advocate for that content are the same people who advocate for loli content and custom decals in games like TF2.
