I live in the American Southeast, have had to deal with hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding my whole life. Growing up I used to have this kind of a conversation every year with my father. I think where we're from, that is, the location which we're born in, is probably a factor to our preferences as to which and what we're okay with dealing with.
If you're fine with earthquakes and droughts, you should maybe check out the Southwestern area of the U.S. That's the area that's privy to that kind of conditioning. Somewhere South of California, but West of the Mississippi River.

Natural disasters don't obey State borders...
What you need to do is work with several longitudinal studies regarding these phenomenon and map them.
There are companies that specialize in location services that match your needs. (Secure, long-term, data/etc storage placement, for example.)
Emergency Management Agencies by State and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has maps for regions related to natural disturbances/events. These are crucial for responding to and preparing for disasters, especially where industry, population, location of hazardous materials, etc, are concerned.
You can find relatively calm, low-risk, areas in every State, I'm sure. It's a big country and such events are localized. (Unless they're really, really, big... It wouldn't be advisable to build near a supervolcano.. or downwind of it, for example.)
