If theres no one waiting for you after this all over, the pain is so much greater, and the heartache. Who will you cry your eyes out too? And be like "I missed you so much, I can't believe your back!"
If everyone believed in the afterlife nobody would care when it happened. It'd be the security checkpoint at the end of the queue, so you can get on the plane to nowhere.
Isn't it better that everyone spends their entire life in agonizing ignorance over it, wailing over the permanent loss of all their loved ones and knowing there's nothing for them at the end of it all?
I think everyone involved in this deception should be massively proud of themselves!
After all there's gotta be a good reason they're all lying like this right.
looking for perfection
Imagine if you were sitting on a beach watching the sunset, knowing tomorrow will never come, you'd drink up that last sunset, because you know you'll never experience it ever again. It's the same with your friends and loved ones; you cherish every moment because you know one day you'll never see them again so you're thankful for every moment.
But people who believe in an afterlife will look at that same sunset and think "oh that, yeah, it'll be there tomorrow, too. And the day after that. And the day after that...". ad infinitum.
And that, in my opinion, is why life is so beautiful; because it doesn't last.

Oh, it also comes down to the fear of death. Death is less scary if you think theres something waiting for you like an afterlife. The cope helps you sleep better at night.
So many problems and the solution is not for everyone.
2 - AI - which is being invented and realised as being one of the most feared technologies of the future
3 - The thinking that comes up with 2 (above)
4 - Technology removing us from what we all need as humans: To love and to be loved
5 - The oppression we are all under to varying degrees
6 - Lack of opportunity
7 - Millions in real misery across the world
This cannot be turned around and stopped. The clock is now ticking.

Depression can exist without reason, but for most people it is the loss of hope. If there is a situation where there is no hope, then depression is highly possible.
You should facepalm at yourself. Google knows a lot but it doesn't know what the OP had in mind when they asked this.
"Biggest Cause of depression
What do you think is the most common cause of depression in people nowadays?"
It's a very simple question too. I'm surprised you didn't get it straight away.
