I do not know these films and cannot comment on them.

Churches are very community minded and that is a good thing my issue is when they become a bit in your face or pressuring people against their own choice.

The rules/codes name them what you will by Jesus was about liberation from constructs and not becoming dogged down in the rules and regulation (that was more the Churches that followed) his way was to get people from 'the shackles of sin' that is to take note of destructive behavior and you will enjoy life more without it.
We know the seven deadly sins a good example of excess in any one of them etc etc.

How not to get into a fight with her do not be argumentative about it.
It is not her place to put you in your place at your age and it is nobody's place to tell another what religion they should be a part of.
If your path is the one of Christianity you will walk with it anyway.
