You might just be paranoid. Afraid some nerds on microsoft will watch everything you do?
Also lol google, apple, facebook and lots of other companies has allready "spied" for years. Nothing new.
True there is no other reason to upgrade other than getting dx12 and that win10 does indeed run faster. Most of my games are running faster than they did in win7. because win10 runs faster (it is smoother). But sure. You can nicely stay on win7 until it gets abondoned like win vista, xp and older where you are in high risk of getting hacked and virus and all that.
Yup, Win7 will be supported until 2020. Hopefully there will be something better than Win10 by that time.
The second we were born our information has been 'spied' on, anything you pay bill wise? Linked to you. Qualifications? Linked to you. Past/current job(s)? Linked to you. Your credit card? Linked to you. Your router? Linked to you. Your email address? Linked to you (no ♥♥♥♥) Vehicle documents? Linked to you. Medical issues? Linked to you. Passport? Linked to you. Fingerprints? linked to you and most likely already documented somewhere.
Literally everything there is to know about anyone is already known so those that are pissing themselves about their 'privacy and security being compromised' need to wake up (how ironic lmao) and realize we're not in the stone age - your details are already known well before Win10.
Oh, I'm aware of Microsoft's plans to go to a subscription model for the OS and that Win10 will be around beyond the 2020 EOL for Win7. That wasn't what I meant by "something better". Because that money-grab scheme is not "better".
As fast you just type something or use google or anything you gets "spied on" Everyone using gmail will most certainly have their phone location tracked at all times. Everytime you say something to SIRI on iphone the message you say will be stored back at apple. Cortana and windows10 is more like it. The services that is "spying" on you is actually there to serve you. It will try to understand you to help you.
In the future i bet your whole home (smart homes) will be like the same. There allready is homes like that which register movements and controlls lights, music and everything which sends wireless data to a center. It can be usefull to turn lights on/off automatically or to see when people have been in your home.
then even i will move to linux (and loose the ability to play half of my games) lol.
i am also ready to switch to linux if they go that route. i wont pay a subsrription for an os
This is why MS has private support of XP still ongoing. Many very large companies are not interested in paying to upgrade tens of thousands of computers every couple of years when MS decides to change it all around again.
Of course securom isn't bundled with Windows, why would it be? It never has been (unless part of specific OEM deal)
DirectX which comprised the original DirectDraw as wqell as Direct3D engine architectures is included with Windows 10 and in fact, cannot be removed.
If you have issue with earlier dfirectX version requirements, you can install the 9.0c compatitibility updates and/or run product in compatibility mode.
If SecuROM is not functioning, did you upgrade to Windows 10 from an earlier version of windows? If so, was there a SecuROM protected game installed already? You will need to uninstall and reinstall this product, since the registration for SecuROM is protected.
Overall, Windows 10 is incredibly compatible, provided the software was written according to standards.

Incidentally, I dislike Windows 10 immensely. Windows XP was far more versatile, but I need post Windows 7 windows for work and it's a little better than 8 / 8.1
If only they could have redesigned from scratch (pproperly, not just bolted on over the old) Windows with an XP user-experience, but with the UEFI, security features, managed caps etc.
Oh yes that is definitly what we need i can see the head lines of rage articles now
"Decades of work and windows experience wasted as microsoft moves to reworked operating system"
"Developers are having a ♥♥♥♥ fest over microsoft desiction to dump all of there old work and experince"
Well a re work would be great and would untimatly benefit the users developers that have been using the win32 API for literally decades would be upset and would probaly quit programming for good with such a move. People would move away from windows in droves becuase all of the developers would be working with linux since it stayed more or les the same and there is still documentation and information they can use to develop that is relevant.
