best airplane/flight game out atm?

i'm a pilot ya know, been one all my life - and one day i'm going to fly away from this place. i used to play a lot of il2 but stepped away from the scene for a while, i'd like to get into a good airplane game again, prefereably something more updated than il2 1946, what do you guys think is the best atm?

Judging from the latest reviews about it and the overall mostly positive review build up, I'd say it's one of the best flying simulators on Steam.

Haven't played it though.

To this day no one has released a bigger flight simulator or found a need too. Sure you could add better graphics but do people play flight simulators for better graphics?

Other developers stopped trying to compete with MS Flight Simulator (insert most recent version number) years ago.

right on cool guys. i know graphics don't matter, but it would be nice if MS decided to release a new MS Flight sim even if it was exactly the same as X with modern day graphics. FYI MS: i would GLADLY pay for that instead of the crap EA is pumping out these days.

If they do release something new it will probaly be only on there windows 10 store.

Microsoft fired the development team way back in 2009. The rights were bought by Dovetail Games, including development rights, in 2014 and this is the first they released so far: http://store.steampowered.com/app/441920/

Theres a new Microsoft flight sim coming out this year that uses real world satellite data loaded in real time from servers as you fly.
