Bought a new game on ebay, missing manual but seller doesn't offer returns. Should I bother to contact ebay to return and buy a copy elsewhere or no?

If the manual was stated to have been included in the product, then you can message Ebay and state you did not get what was intended from the buyer. However, if it was stated to not be included, or was "As is" in the photo(s) and no manual was shown, then there's no point and you will need to buy it from another source.

Whether the seller offers returns or not on Ebay does not matter. The product still must meet the description.

I've been a seller on ebay longer than I've been a Steam member.

Contact the seller politely.

Well. I was going to cancel the order before it shipped but he was like I can only cancel if I paid 1 extra dollar, and he didn't even talk about the manual in his description so I assumed....

If it listed as new, it needs to include EVERYTHING that came from the factory. Note that there is also new (other) as well as factory refurbished, seller refurbished, and parts not working that do not carry this requirement.

No manual was mentioned in the advertisement. Many new Playstation 3 games no longer come with a paper manual, so this could be one. Please cancel your request."

I mean....I do disagree, because watching unboxing videos, this one does have a manual...but Idk.

Then file a dispute. The worst thing to happen is that Paypal will side with the seller and your dispute will be cancelled, end of story.

That line would signify a manual would need to be included within the package, as brand new products would have one included in the jacket sleeve. File a despute.

Yep, I'm with Ericka on this.

As a seller, I've never replied to a customer this way either, I've always tried to make it right. If he is not willing to refund or have you return it, perhaps you can meet halfway and request an amount you believe is market value for the missing manual.

The real issue is the OP's lack of faith in the console community. He comes to Steam to post about a PS3 game purchased on Ebay.

OP, I did a little more digging. Later versions of the game you bought DO NOT come with a manual so you better do some more research. Don't pull your dispute yet as once you do, you cannot start it again, plus the seller has a week (or more) to do anything, anyway.
