What is your opinion on Reggaeton?

Seems like most people I've talked to hate it, but I actually like it. I listen to it even more than American rap ever since I discovered it in 2005. I like how it combines different Latin and Carribbean styles of music together with booming drum beats. That gets me really pumped up!

I would be happy to drop Pitbull in a deep, dark hole. Beyond that, I probably haven't heard much of most artists who perform the genre.

Pitbull is not really a reggaeton artist, he is more of a pop artist with Latin influences. Here is a popular reggaeton song (the one which got me into the genre) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g_G6f4_iGM

Had you read the lyrics of the most of the songs in Spanish? (I have never listen to reggeaton in English) Those song are pretty offensive and stupid (I'm not saying that there are no good lyrics, but the most that I have listened to are terrible)

Anything that feeds American stupidity is alright with me. Nothing like passing a Civic or Altima and hearing how loud the 99% is.

I can understand maybe half of reggaeton lyrics (I'm Chicano but Spanish is my 2nd language) and yea I know the lyrics are mostly trash. I listen to reggaeton for the beats which I think are more complex than most people give it credit for with a mix of snares, hi hats, timbales, etc.
