Or did you just rum Malwarebytes and think PC is clean?
You have to have defenses before you can act like a single program should clean you out. You have to know what to look for, and how to act to clean your machine, and what to run...
https://malwaretips.com/blogs/malware-removal-guide-for-windows/
You don't pay me, so I won't walk you through..
Just follow this, and don't skip steps being a know it all, and get the dummy clean out of your pc. Or don't.
I didn't want you to think that I ignored your reply.......
Today I was finally able to follow the steps you provided in your link....so for my "update"
As far as I can tell, it worked well! I was able to re-download Firefox WITHOUT ProtectedO.....which is REAL GOOD progress! Before it would just pop back up as soon as I re-donwloaded it....Internet Explorer also appears to be free of the pest.....
According to the logs I had, OLD programs that I thought that I had gotten rid of were still alive and kicking....I had a trojan...and some other weird J something....the programs deleted a bunch of PUP keys and found other maleware that I wasn't even aware of.....
I was worried as some of the other poster's had stated that I would have to do a clean boot of Windows....which would be a nightmare! So as far as I can tell you saved me!!!
I will say that I learned my lesson of just having one source of protection for my PC.....I have always been accustomed to having your ONE provider and that being that....now that I have finally built a "rig" I am trying my best to learn the ins and outs....or the trivial things in order to better my understanding of my PC.....
So thank you for taking the time with your reply and thank you for the help!!!!!
