My problem is that I keep buying games when they are on sale or I really want them. I just brought HyperDimension Neptunia Rebirth 2 today and later this month I am getting all 3 of the Fire Emblem Fates games
LOL
Unfortunately, I find I now lack the time to play games, so my backlog just sits and waits patiently for my return (July cannot come sooner)
I end up taking a while to choose.. Still don't really have a solution to this issue tbh
The problem with having a large game backlog is the fact that it's large. You see all your games and immediately feel overwhelmed, plus you treat it like a chore (like a check list), rather than a form of relaxation.
My advice would be take a break from gaming and come back to it when you see them as ways to escape from your life, not as a chore (if you view it as a backlog, it's more like a to-do list than something else).
I give that advice because, in my experience, that's how it kind of is with engineering (if you have a large product and sprint backlog, it's overwhelming and you tend to want to avoid it or pick the low hanging fruit). It's like for anything, if you have too much in front of you, people tend to get overwhelmed and back off.
Got over two hundred games, counting PS VITA, Xbox One, PS4, tablet, and off steam.
It's not actually difficult to play them all. Sure, I have ones that I don't really play at all, but I also have ones that I love. Just pick out the games that are your most favorite, and just play those, but if you have other games that aren't your favorites, but you still play, put them in another category.
