Use a RNG to choose from 1 to however many games you have in that library. If you get something like 15, then you play the 15th game in that library. idk it just sounds like some silly fun thing to do.
I never thought about doing that. That's actually great idea
You should see the massive backlog of PS3 games I have not played yet. My Steam account is nothing compared to my PSN account.
Man that is insane. How do you typically go through your games?

My problem is that I keep buying games when they are on sale or I really want them. I just brought HyperDimension Neptunia Rebirth 2 today and later this month I am getting all 3 of the Fire Emblem Fates games
Games are like books. You're either into the story or you're not. If you're not, you stop reading and find another book that is more interesting to read.

LOL

I just narrowed my list of backlog games to games that I really wanted to play or have interest in , which narrowed that down to 21 games that I have an interest in. Put it through a random number generator and... looks like I'm playing Hard Reset next lol
The RNG idea is briliant. Something I do is I find all the games in my library that I feel like playing, install them, then use an RNG and pick a game from there. It's great because they're games I actually want to play, so it works out.

Unfortunately, I find I now lack the time to play games, so my backlog just sits and waits patiently for my return (July cannot come sooner)

It's going to be bad for me because half the games I want to play are pretty lengthy games. Witcher 3 and Tales of Zestria will be the death of me.
Here's an idea. Play games that are short in length first, lengthy ones last. Going from favourite to least favourite.
I have a tonne of games...and choose only to play TF2. :steambored:
Yeah I have have a tendency to play Halo 5 multiplayer and Hearthstone on some days.

That is also an interesting idea. I would also add that maybe one day I play a short game (under about 20 hours) and the next time I play a longer game and then repeat. That way I wont burn myself out on a longer game and balance it with the shorter games.
First world problem...

I end up taking a while to choose.. Still don't really have a solution to this issue tbh
I find it easier to commit to a game at a time, since it allows you to immerse yourself into it a bit better (unless you don't enjoy the game of course).

The problem with having a large game backlog is the fact that it's large. You see all your games and immediately feel overwhelmed, plus you treat it like a chore (like a check list), rather than a form of relaxation.

My advice would be take a break from gaming and come back to it when you see them as ways to escape from your life, not as a chore (if you view it as a backlog, it's more like a to-do list than something else).

I give that advice because, in my experience, that's how it kind of is with engineering (if you have a large product and sprint backlog, it's overwhelming and you tend to want to avoid it or pick the low hanging fruit). It's like for anything, if you have too much in front of you, people tend to get overwhelmed and back off.

Got over two hundred games, counting PS VITA, Xbox One, PS4, tablet, and off steam.
It's not actually difficult to play them all. Sure, I have ones that I don't really play at all, but I also have ones that I love. Just pick out the games that are your most favorite, and just play those, but if you have other games that aren't your favorites, but you still play, put them in another category.
