[HELP] Alien Names?

How do you name an Alien species?

You have various ways to name people in countries, some have different meanings and such, others work with Rhythm. An African name would be like "Sipho", or "Adebowale", whilst Asians are like "Lee" Or "Su-Wong" [Stereotypes, all I got going for me].

Is there a way you would name Aliens based on such a "System"? A type of formula, if I can say that.

I need help.

A book you might want to look into is Gary Gygax's Extraordinary Book of Names by Malcolm Bowers. In the final section on Fantastic Names, he has set up a method of randomizing names using different tables, with each table populated with different-sounding name elements organized by theme ("Fair and Noble" or "Vile and Crude" or "Primitive"). Admittedly, the book is more geared toward fantasy rather than science fiction, but the same basic principles apply.

All aliens are named with an Old English Anglo-Saxon first name followed by a number desingation such as ÆLFRÆD Seven.

there are no formulas, i think for naming 'aliens'.

chinese, korean, vietnamese languages are based on characters. hence names are more of sounds like something, ie. deng, lee, tan, yeoh, ling, chua, chan, doo, du, teng, ten, cua.

old egyptian language are picture hieroglyphs and i can't imagine why they call their leader pharaoh

western countries are so much varied like burlington, clinton, mccain, reagan.

Take the name of a skyrim character, add in some pointless y's, x' and z' and there you go.

I crack up at the thought of meeting an Alien named Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov in some game or novel (although they already did such ridiculous things to the Russian language that this wouldn't even surprise me anymore).

PS: I doubt you can think of a naming system for aliens, since every other life form will differ from ours so much (including communication and individual being) that you really can't describe or even imagine it with the things and sounds we know from Earth. Maybe they wouldn't even have names. Maybe they would talk via electrical impulses.
