Is steamcharts numbers accurate?
How accurate are players count for the games that are available on multiple launchers, such as gta 5, rainbow six siege, etc?
For instance, it says 120000 players playing rainbow six siege. Is that just players running the game on steam or playing the game across both, steam and uplay?

Steam has a precise count for everything that's played on Steam. They don't know a thing about games that are not played on Steam.

Steamcharts is accurate for Steam stats.

For your example, the GTA V and Rainbow Six Siege Steamcharts will show how many players are playing them through Steam. They are 100% accurate there.

Steamchart's numbers is a reliable source considering their numbers usually aligns with the Steam concurrent player statistics.

User numbers are realiable, however steam HW survey is not. There is unknown method of selecting users to survey, size of sample is unknown and there has been reports of multiple users of same computer getting the survey.
