How far away do you sit to console game?

I was looking at this picture and this guy just seems too far away to enjoy whatever he's playing:

Or, maybe it's that his TV isn't big enough for that distance.



How far away do you console game? How far away is ideal? Do you think the guy in the picture is gaming from too far away?

Depends on what I play. I have a 32inch TV and for the life of me I can't read small text in the distance. So yeah, preferably close.

I think I sit about the same, perhaps a little bit further. Got a 50 inch tv.

With a normal monitor, I would sit only 1 meter away! Sitting far back is not something real gamers do.

I sit X away from the TV base on the Y size of TV.

For me I have 40" so around 6-7 feet.

I've a 46 inch tv or so and I sit 3.60 meter away. It's too much. I either need to sit closer or buy a 70 inch tv. So I don't play with Steamlink anymore. I liked it back in days when I lived in appartment and I did sat closer. 1.50 meter away from tv is perfect.

3 or 4 feet when I had a console, but now on pc I'm usually 2 feet away give or take.
