Why do people use "learned" instead of "learnt"?
"Learnt" is the proper way to say that you learnt something, there is no such word as "learned"...

Why "fridge" is spelled with a "d" and "refrigerator" doesn't?

Good point, honesty is the best policy.

Why do people say "sneaked" instead of "snuck?" "Sneaked" isn't a word.

Why do people say "penmanship" instead of "handwriting" or "calligraphy?" "Penmanship" isn't a word.

Why are people who misuse "literally" not literally defenestrated as they so richly deserve?

pretty sure linguistics is uncountable but i also wouldn't care about making a mistake in my grammar on an internet forum anyways

Who learned you to talk like that?

I've had a neighbor that is fairly well educated and intelligent but he has those ways about him, bad habits, still has backwoods grammar and odd vocabulary.

Whatever, I have better things to do than correct him. For what reason? To embarrass and offend him? Why? To be a petty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for trivial reasoning? That would fall under misery searching for company.

I think I use either one, depending on what I'm saying with it.

I don't think I've used learnt.

You would have learnt that if you'd read the whole thread. It's quite informative.

Anyone who types y'all on Twitter should be banned for life. Even once, you're DONE.

Interesting thread tho. Next up: y'all and ya'll
"Y'all" is proper because it's a short for "You all", "Ya'll" would be something like "Ya all".
I use both.
