Is ER "Fast Track" supposed to be ironic?
I've had experience with it, and lemme tell ya, it's anything but fast.

Somebody tells you they're on the fast track, you go ahead and start knitting a sweater.

Emergency Room fast track?

There are two meanings to this:

1. They skipped basic training and are getting a crash course, because they're valuable for different reasons. Usually nepotism, but not always!
2. They skipped basic training, or simply failed to absorb anything from it somehow, and are being retrained while on the job. Sunk cost, worth another shot.

That's about it.

in ERs there are two tiers, the slow lane and the slower lane(s.) Strongly recommend you be patient, or pay for an ambulance to get to the inside waiting rooms faster. Don't shoot yourself in the lobby though, kinda frowned upon to try and jump the line doing that.

The other acronym is I think 'Executive Reserve,' which should already make you question its legitimacy.

The short of it is, it's a sub department for situations that are urgent and serious but not life threatening. Like injuries to fingers, for example.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_department
In the United States, and many other countries, hospitals are beginning to create areas in their emergency rooms for people with minor injuries. These are commonly referred as Fast Track or Minor Care units. These units are for people with non-life-threatening injuries. The use of these units within a department have been shown to significantly improve the flow of patients through a department and to reduce waiting times. Urgent care clinics are another alternative, where patients can go to receive immediate care for non-life-threatening conditions. To reduce the strain on limited ED resources, American Medical Response created a checklist that allows EMTs to identify intoxicated individuals who can be safely sent to detoxification facilities instead.[42]

Ah, yes. Put one group behind a different screen so they don't see the people going ahead of them, seems pretty straightforwards.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I use "urgent care" as my primary means of getting medical care.

It cost $25 to set up an appointment for my primary care physician while it also costs $25 to see any urgent care physician.

Instead of waiting a few days/weeks, I can just walk on in for medical care.

If I visit the ER, it's $100. I pay $98/paycheck for this medical insurance plan, and that's with my company is footing 75% of the total cost.

Don't get me started on my Dental plan.

I didn't know this was such an uncommon thing.
