Why do people find enjoyment in torturing rats and hamsters?

I swear, tiktok for example is full of videos where people are purposely prodding hamsters in cages until they show annoyance or even corner them to get them to scream. All for views it seems, or for their personal pleasure...

For rats is even worse, especially on youtube with all those inhumane traps which are it seems designed to make the rats suffer as much as possible rather than giving them a quick death. Next thing is even more sick, one guy caught a rat in a cage then started to shake the cage violently to terrify the rat as much as he can. And don't even get me to start on the comments those videos get... BARELY any comment is against what those people are doing and they are instead encouraging it and writing their own stories on how they tortured rats. Someone wrote they ripped the rat's tail/teeth. Someone other wrote they lighted the rat on fire or that they cut his limbs

Why is it like this? This is just disturbing

Well considering they are few years old, it is safe to assume youtube doesn't care about it. If there is no blood or swears, it seems they are fine about it

a neighbour used to have pigeons.
1 black pigeon with bright red eyes was sitting here at window whole day and like eyeballing me the whole f'time through the window.

They like to feel like gods by having the power of life and death over things which feel. The fear in the eyes of their target can give them a rush.

And when the creature that depends on you, also fears you, but also loves you for its survival. Its a funny thing for them one can assume.

Though some do it, because they have no control in their lives. Like some play power fantasy video games. Though with video games, unless its multi-player, none suffer.

Many people as adults grow out of these dark hobbies, though some don't.

I can understand the anger these people feel towards an animal, when a mouse is in my walls, gnawing non-stop so I can't sleep or think. Every second that freeloader may decide to bite a wire instead of wood and burn my house down, or ruin the wiring of the house.


I remember the girl that lead to chris chan arrested was into the hamster thing.

Because this was somehow recommended to me a long time ago and i thought the video is about simply a rat being angry. But when i saw that the guy is throwing fake close punches to scare the rat into screeching i was disgusted. And i shared it here to back up my claims that social media platforms are full of these kind of videos. Are you really thinking i would've created this thread and calling this sick if i was enjoying this?
