American football is MUCH more entertaining than soccer.

Of course, this really didn't need to be brought up, because it is obvious. However, let's have an open discussion forum on this topic, because they always turn out to be the most fun! What is your opinion on this matter? Are you more of a fan of gridiron football, or marathon football (AKA soccer, futbol)?

I'm a fan of the NFL and Division 1 NCAA college football. Never really got into the CFL or lesser football leagues. The XFL was entertaining during its first season, however, not anymore. I tried to get into soccer. I really did. I tried for two World Cups. The most entertaining World Cup was the Zidane headbutt. Oh, the memes! The best part about soccer is all of the flopping. Soccer players are HILARIOUS floppers. Hockey has its fights, soccer has its flops. I'd much rather watch hockey than soccer. Anyway! Football!

At least in American football the idea is to inflict as much pain as possible on the other team. You have to try and break ankles knees legs arms etc. That is the name of the game to inflict as much pain as possible.

What pain?
American football:
Helmet, Shoulder/Chest pad/protector, upper leg padding and mouthguard are rightfully required.

VS

Rugby
Players are only allowed modest padding on Head, Shoulders, Collarbone etc. Only a mouthguard is required

Americans don't even realise if they take a few rules away, remove the silly suits and helmet, they have rugby. of course i know they won't do that because their version of "football" is theirs, it's unique and american. oh i'm sure some americans would like to think we can't understand the game because it's american.
