Malwarebytes or Windows Defender?
For the longest time I've only used Windows Defender as my always active antivirus but the other day I decided to install Malwarebytes because I wanted to run a scan and I noticed that it seems to take over for WIndows Defender as the active antivirus and I'm not sure if I want it to do that or not, I downloaded it to scan, not to be always running. But now I'm wondering which is better to have always running? Malwarebytes or Defender? Also does MB use less resources? Because sometimes Windows Defender will eat up a lot of my pcs resources at random.

It is banned for govt, because it was able to detect US state malware used by the CIA / NSA...

When I first got Mbam, it was a great program. You ran it ad hoc, and otherwise it didn't run. Then it went freemium and now the premium crap is what the whole program is literally all about.

It's not even that I don't want to pay for it. I literally do not want it to do the stuff that premium does, like running at all times whether I like it or not.

And when you first run it, you get a trial of premium that you can't opt out of or deactivate. And when your trial runs out, it treats you not subscribing to the premium crap as if it were a virus.

It's just crapware these days. I wish I could go back to an old version.

There is an exception...

For those not paying....

Never download a pirated / crack version of an OS and/or anti-virus program... 98% of them are infected and backdoored. You will be better off without it. They are root level of your PC security, so commonly targeted.

I'm only suggesting an application control anti-virus app if you are paying for it's official subscription.
