This movie looks promising and thought provoking.

I had almost given up on Hollywood lately (too much childish superhero movies) and then this film gives me renewed hope for contemporary drama.

Definitely gonna give this film a chance when it hits the theaters.

I don't mind having racially based dialogue as long as it's a two-way street. I'm sure some Black people do have issues with White people; that's fine. As a White person, I have my own critiques of everyone else, as well as my own people, too. It's trying to be colorblind and ignore race that's the problem.

the movie is satire. scathing satire by the looks of it.

the main character (the black guy) has to break through the whole magical negro trope so he can be with the girl apparently. but by doing that, all the black people who have magical powers because they're 'magical' will lose their powers. it's a pretty clever twist on the whole theme.
