You know in that scene in Terminator 2
where T-1000 is searching for John at the arcade and he asks John's friend if he saw him, and the dude lies that he doesn't know John...
Shouldn't T-1000 as a terminator be able to tell when a human is lying? :CoconutLaugh:

Infiltrator should be able to gather information cause the info given at the start of the mission might come out outdated, or otherwise flawed.
T-1000's interrogation methods seem fine when he tries to convince Sarah to tell where John is at the end :P

The end? i'm aware that Sarah Connor quickly realised the same type of machine that was sent to kill her is now protecting her and john and that she also had little choice in that insane asylum because an assassin was out to get her and john. In fact the t-1000 already found its target very early on and the skynet infiltrator as well.

I meant this scene

I think he knew, he probably did nothing because there were a lot of witnesses

Rule one of infiltration is never call attention to yourself by questioning people's lies.

ironically not calling attention to itself over the matter is what drew the most attention because it didn't understand basic human cues and emotional behaviour, it couldn't pick up on those aspects, it wasn't designed for it. The best thing the machine could have done is lie a little or showed some emotion, that's all packaged together with interrogation techniques.

They're designed for infiltration, not interrogation.

It's ideal that they don't display any emotions at all, even to fit in, as this will draw attention towards them in the long term.

Someone might engage them regarding their emotions, catch them in a lie, and begin to suspect them of something.

You can't suspect anything of an emotionless husk though. Wouldn't trust them with anything either, but again they're infiltration bots. Not trust bots.

It is a machine tasked with terminating the real target while NOT making too many suspicious things during the missions which would only make the mission harder to complete.

I lived a life that made me think like a machine. Let me tell you what T-1000 "thought" when he was lied to:

It didn't believe that guy. It just couldn't get the data needed at that time. And if it had tried to make him talk through threat, he would either tell him another lie (and quickly acquaints John about a "suspicious dude" asking about him when it leaves) or he would have been killed which would clearly have made the news and would have made John to hide as good as possible. Which would then greatly hardened the mission of T-1000.
