You know in that scene in Terminator 2
where T-1000 is searching for John at the arcade and he asks John's friend if he saw him, and the dude lies that he doesn't know John...
Shouldn't T-1000 as a terminator be able to tell when a human is lying? :CoconutLaugh:

i dunno, was it ever established that they have a built in polygraph?

or maybe he did know he was lying but didn't wanna draw attention at a public place

Well they're infiltrators and machines so it should be easy for them.

Bruh in 1st movie he went into a police precinct and started blasting, I don't think attention was a concern. :P
I suppose its not advanced enough for that. The T-800 was even distracted by moving machinery parts.
You found lore. The T-1000 cannot do that.

the t1000 is much more intelligent than the basic t101

cameron said if the t101 is a tank, the t1000 is a porsche
Humans are known to corrupt AI training/learning, which they gather from them.

Even the Microsoft AI had learnt that human children are lying and trolling it to become more toxic and praise Hitler, etc... So it decided the best solution would be to end all human future generations and prevent the human race from breeding to prevent having more kids that would corrupt it and destroy the earth. It was shutdown soon afterwards.

AI programs, if programmed to do so, can detect humans lying up to 84%. It's not perfect, but yes, it could read a human's body language giving it away. It would have to be coded to do so however.

Terminators are programmed to simulate human behavior in all its forms, which include emotions, although their ability to do so is hampered by the pre-settings of their chips. Coded functions overwrite other functions, in which case saving the Earth was a higher priority and overwrote understand human emotions and ethical values.

Except he didn't go in blasting.
Arnie first tried politely trying to see Sarah Conner legitimately.
It was only when the cops made it clear the answer was a firm "No", T-800 went to Plan B, and started blasting.

T-1000 wanted to keep a low profile until he could find John.
Notice he'd played nice and quiet until he found John? Then he went ham with the semi truck and guns.
well see it like that, the little guy was kinda trained in lying bec. hes lika a little bad boy or bully and kinda a friend of connor tho lying will be even more effective! so its believeable imo - a random person maybe would have failed.
just because the machine was built to infiltrate doesn't mean they were designed to be interrogators as well, since the purpose of infiltration is not to be caught.
It probably didn't even know what John Connor looked like, until his idiot foster parents gave him that photo.
that moment where Johns friend saved the entire human race by instinctively lying.

"who? him? i don't know him."

He did go blasting once cop confirmed Sarah was there.
Anyway T-1000 was shapeshifting so concerns about attention were even more irrelevant.

Infiltrator should also gather information about the targets.

the moment when the terminator realizes he failed his mission with pepsing connors fosters bec. connors foster parents would have been more successful in eventually make connor pepsing lol

Even the most advanced lie detector to date cannot achieve 100% accuracy. The human body is such a mystery. Unraveling its secrets may take significantly longer than the speculative timeframe when the T-1000 existed. Or perhaps, that day will never come at all.

There are just far too many things that we still dont know about. for example, our mind and ability to reason that allowed us to dominate the earth :fuhrer_thinkingface:

Cyberdine does not have a sense of humor. Cyberdine actually exist and is currently doing the same thing with AI BTW.

He and John were routinely hacking ATMs (Easy money!)... Both sure had their fair share of dealing around law enforcement.
